A great way to give them the opportunity to discuss their adventures is to write about it. The more dramatic you are the easier it is to draw in your audience, aka your students.
Write about something that happened last year that you think you will remember for the rest of your life. Be sure to make the sections proportional to the amount of time you spent doing each activity.
Start with the easy stuff. This will be the best year because… I hope that this year brings me….
